Really, Governor?
From WBGO News:
Corzine says he is working on a plan for transportation but it will be weeks before he releases it. But the state will still need billions of dollars for it – to pay down debt, widen the Turnpike, and possibly build a new tunnel across the Hudson River. Treasurer David Rousseau has said every governor has needed money for transportation projects but was not willing to risk popularity for the sake of higher tolls. How about being willing to risk popularity for the sake of reduced spending?
But he couldn't do that. Rousseau is talking about popularity among taxpayers. Corzine doesn't really care about them -- only about being popular among liberals who suck at the teat of big government.
So instead of trying to pull us out of a financial crisis, he's blighting the landscape for employers and taxpayers. Good going, Guv. Way to take the high road.

Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) bridges already charge more then they should. Bridge fares and PATCO fares should be decreasing as the cost of maintenance has decreased over the years. Increases are bad for business and will increase the cost of everything coming into and out of the state.
The DRPA has become a corrupt organization. The citizens of South Jersey are demanding a "cease and desist" on toll hikes or will take legal action to ensure the DRPA will cease to exist as it is currently constructed.
Much of the anger by people at the meeting with DRPA officials was directed at $375 million in DRPA spending over the last decade on such economic development projects as Lincoln Financial Field, the Kimmel Center, the National Constitution Center, the Camden Riversharks' minor league baseball stadium, and most recently, a soccer stadium complex on the Chester waterfront, and the National Museum of American Jewish History near Independence Hall.
About $35 million remains earmarked for future economic development - this is wasteful spending that the DRPA has no business funding. Those outside projects can raise their own funds.
Governor Corzine must vote NO to DRPA increases or we will be forced to take legal action against politicians in Trenton and Harrisburg who have continued the Culture of Political Corruption by raising taxes on hardworking citizens of those states.
We will have a "tea party" and throw the politicians who go against the taxpayers into the Delaware.
