Morristown Tea Party Update 2!

A message from the organizers of the Morristown Tea Party:

A group of concerned citizens has been working together with one accord to create an opportunity for their friends, neighbors, and fellow NJ residents to meet and announce to the world with one voice that we have all had enough of fiscally irresponsibile government.

To that end, we announce and invite you to attend the Morristown Tea Party to be held at the Morristown Green, at noon on April 15, tax day.**

Attached to this email is a video clip prepared one of the team members to advertize the rally. Please send it out to your email contacts. There is more information on our website: www.MorristownTeaParty.org.

**If the weather is bad, we will still hold the rally. Please make sure that you dress appropriately.

Yes, echoing the tea party. Which came about, of course, because of what, again?

Ah, yes ... taxation without representation.

This isn't tyranny, you realize.

This is government OF the people. America voted. Obama won. You don't get to make the rules anymore, kids!

Just because you don't like the outcome doesn't mean that you're being oppressed. It just means you're sore losers.

No Anon, it means that we are being taxed well beyond anything that the Framers would accept. Our taxation well exceeds our representation.

Do you even pay any income tax?

Well, it appears that Anonymous has the "Paul Begalla" talking points down about right. That's fine, Anon can keep the cute canned retorts if that's what he or she wants but apparently the real American spirit and philosophy of our founders escapes him or her.

Without even getting into the outrageous destructive spending that the "winners" are undertaking it's enough to note that taxation without representation is no worse than representation without taxation. If the number I hear bandied around stating that about 50% of Americans DON'T pay taxes, then those 50% shouldn't have the same say in government matters as the 50% who do pay. Why should those who don't contribute be allowed to participate in the decision about how we use the resources of those who do? Sorry Anonymous, you just don't get it.

Michael

I almost responded yesterday when I saw this but I am glad I waited. Your response speaks for itself.

Michael's comment coincide with the founding fathers...only "investors" (property owners)were allowed to vote. Freedom of the press was the glue to keep government from encroaching on the people. Journalists are the biggest offenders in our democracy since they no longer do the job required to keep our freedom. I have cancelled the Star Ledger for its cartoom dipiction of our Tea Parties. Honesty seems to be a hardship for these media mongals

We are a nation that fought for freedom back in 1776. We are a nation that continues to grow. We are a nation who wishes to always be allowed freedom. We are a nation of people from all over the world leaving a country of birth which denied all of the rights we in the United States of America sometimes take for granted. We are a nation of people from all over the world with some of us lucky enough to be born here. We are a nation of people who should not take our government for granted. We are a nation that pays our government through taxes. Those tax payments make US the employer of the elected officials who received their position from the electoral vote of "Mr. and Mrs. Citizen". They should constantly be reminded of this. Our elected officials should not take us for granted. WE are their future.

You anonymous folks aren't worth reading. If you aren't ready to stand up for what you believe in........why should we support your opinion!
